- Activity modes and their correct use
- The need for manual entries and how to make them
- Explanation of unforeseen events and how to record them
- Operating requirements – when to keep charts and when to hand them in
- Explanation of letters of attestation and when they should be carried
- Daily, weekly and fortnightly driving limits
- Breaks, rest and split daily rest
- Reduced daily rest
- Rules covering multi-manning
- Weekly rest
- Explanation and definition of travelling time
- How to record interruptions of daily rest during ferry journeys
- GB domestic rules
- NI domestic rules
- How the regulations are enforced
- Sanctions applied to infringements
- Penalties for infringements
- Explanation of the graduated fixed penalties system
Note: This course can count 7 hours towards the 35 hours needed for Driver CPC periodic training when combined with another 3.5 hour module.
